Applying for a Library Card

Residents of Malverne, five years old and older, are invited to apply for library cards. Please bring in two forms of ID: a photo ID and another source that shows your Malverne address (car registration, utility bill, etc.).

Library cards expire every three years for home-owning residents and every year for those who rent.

You may use your library card at all other Nassau Library System libraries, as long as it is not expired, you do not owe any money, and there are no overdue items on your card. Please note that some libraries may limit non-resident access to some of their collections, especially audio-visual materials.

If you have lost your card, you must show identification to get a new one. There is a $3.00 fee for an adult card replacement and a $1.00 fee for a children’s card replacement. If you have forgotten your card, you may use a photo ID temporarily to borrow books at the Malverne Public Library only. Other libraries will not accept ID other than a valid library card.
